The drop in the birth rate is a problem that plagues many western countries, including Greece. Often, the tough economic conditions of many families who cannot afford the travel and expenses necessary to ensure a safe birth are a burden. To counteract the declining birth rate in the most remote areas of Greece, Menarini Hellas is supporting HOPEgenesis, the slogan of which is “make motherhood a right, not a privilege”.

Reversing the low natality trend is the goal of HOPEgenesis, founded in 2015. This non-profit organisation, which operates in locations where there are no well-equipped healthcare facilities for childbirth, covers all expenses related to pregnancy and childbirth, including the transfer to qualified hospitals and obstetric care even on hard-to-reach islands.
