Painting diya lamps, to bring light and solidarity

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is celebrated in October or November to propitiate a “new beginning” of the year. In the lead up to this occasion, Menarini India employees visited the Punarvas Special School in Mumbai, spending time with its special-needs students.

Together with them, they painted the Diya lamps, symbols of the “light of wisdom in every heart and the light of life in every home” which are used during Diwali. The artworks created were then displayed in exhibitions organised by the pupils and later auctioned off to raise funds for the school.
